About Smart Shave
At his private practice in Manhattan, Dr. Sherwin Parikh had seen thousands of patients with ingrown hairs, razor bumps, and razor burn. For patients who suffered from these shaving problems, Dr. Parikh found that there were no over-the-counter treatments that worked well, and prescription medications were often expensive, harsh, and had undesirable side effects.

After testing dozens of products—both prescription and nonprescription—on himself and his patients, Dr. Parikh studied the key components of a healthy shave. He developed the Smart Shave system, and smartshave.com, to give everyone who shaves a healthier way to do it.

Dr. Sherwin Parikh is a Board-certified dermatologist and a member of the American Academy of Dermatology. He trained at Harvard and Columbia Universities, and is a Clinical Professor at Columbia University. Dr. Parikh has been quoted in numerous publications for his advice on shaving and skin care, including New York Magazine, Allure, Real Simple, Essence and Acne.com. Dr. Parikh was recently featured in the Wall Street Journal and on the cover of Dermatology Business Management for his highly successful paperless practice in downtown Manhattan, Tribeca Skin Center, where he sees patients full-time.
